A New Way to Teaching Toddlers

As you all know, it is really fun teaching toddlers and a little bit of singing along with Board books, adds a new adventure to teaching Toddlers.

What is a Board Book?

A Board book is likely to be a children’s picture book whose pages are made of stiff cardboard rather than ordinary pages. This property of Board books makes it more durable and more accessible for small children to manipulate, who tend to be less gentle with books. Most fundamentally, they are a subgenre of the traditional picture book.

What age are Board books for?

Board books are specifically designed for children from 6 months to 4 years of age as these are safer than their coequal. These fit superbly in the tiny hands of kids and can be easily gripped and turned by them. These are easy to assemble. Kids like to take everything in their mouth, that is why Board books are safer.

Kids love looking at objects like balls, fruits, and other human kids or animals, which is once more Board books are for. There is music also in some of the Board books so, you can choose the books with rhymes as kids love that sound. Kids also love colourful things, so make an appropriate choice in buying books for your kids.

How are these books made?

These are commonly made of paperboard, i.e. sturdy cardboard and not of paper, so kids cannot tear them, which they like to do the most. The average size of the book is around 6×6 inches and is mostly square. The weight of a board book is likely to be kept light so that kids can grip them easily.

To make these books, average-sized boards are cut from any pressed cardboard about 1/16 inches thick. Then they print images for the interior pages. The first image is pasted inside of the front cover and first page. Then they mount internal pages by trimming off the excess adhesive paper and then print cover pages, paste them and mount the cover. This is how a Board book is made.

How Board books help young ages?

Board books are very suitable for tiny hands, and they can help build the kids' motor skills. By reading these books to your kids, you can introduce them to concepts such as numbers, letters, colours, shapes, and many more. You can build listening skills in them. It also helps to increase memory as well as vocabulary skills in them.

Turn pages within an appropriate timing, so your baby understands through pictures. Make your kids repeat every word or sentence after you read it. Always encourage your kids by giving a round of applause. This is how your kid and you both will enjoy the time reading board books.
